Our Process
The following outlines the process a customer can expect when they work with RDF Construction. This is how we deliver on our promise of customer satisfaction for every customer before, during, and after your project.
Step 1: The Consultation
When you contact us for a free consultation, the first step is to schedule a convenient time to meet in person at the potential job site, get to know each other, and discuss the potential project and timeframe. At the time of scheduling this meeting, we will also send out a pre-meeting email that will include many things. In this email, you will find certifications of Liability insurance, Worker’s Compensation insurance, a sample proposal document, a sample change order document, and information on our 3-year warranty. These items will provide you with important information regarding our company and the layout of the documents that will be involved with their project, allowing you to generate any questions for discussion at the time of our first meeting.
Most every project, regardless of size or type, begins with a customer’s many ideas and questions. With our experience combined with your visions, we will begin to outline the project. At this time, we will have many questions for you. Why are you considering this project? What are the must-have components? What items are less important? Any specific materials you are looking to use? How will the final product fit your current lifestyle? Will it still be fitting in 5, 10, or 15 years? What is the budget for the project? These questions will help us realistically put together the scope of work for the project.
Step 2: The Proposal
The first meeting is sometimes all that is needed for us to put together a proposal. For projects requiring design services, the next step would be for the customer to sign a design agreement. This agreement will allow the customer and contractor to work together to develop the proper plans or 3-D mockup required for their project, as well incorporate the specific design themes they desire.
Once all details of the project are decided on, the customer will be provided with an all-inclusive proposal. This will include a detailed description of all phases of the project, specific materials to be used (or allowances where applicable), and specific payment terms.
Step 3: Scheduling & Construction
The next step is to schedule your project. At this time, we can discuss a potential date for construction to begin! Once an agreement is made, we will start with the behind the scenes work; submitting paperwork for building permits, ordering materials, etc.
After all the preparation and anticipation, the day will come to start construction! At this time, we will go through the plan for the project (phases, timeframes, etc.) We will discuss day-to-day concerns, such as: Where can we leave trailers or dumpsters on site? Where can we park vehicles? Are there any pets in the home that we need to be aware of? We understand that construction and remodeling projects can be intrusive and stressful on regular day to day living and we will do everything we can to make the experience as easy and enjoyable as possible.
